Many Christians are not seeing fullness in their lives or are not that happy as they have managed to reduce their christian walk to nothing much more than what they see in the world. We are called to so much more. God's intention for you is fullness and blessing in every area - And not just for you. But to flow from you to your friends, family, workplaces, homes, children and your whole world. You may well need to get a much bigger vision of what you are called to. In these talks we are looking at what we need to do to be people who live and walk in the actual inheritance that God has for us. If God is speaking into your life to today then it is for something that is much bigger and significant than just you. This series looks at the practical end of how you actually inherit the goodness that is promised to you by God.
Enough of the same old, same old. It's time to make your move
Week 1 - Time to make your move
4th December 2011 Speaker: Andrew Toogood
Do you find yourself longing for days gone by? A time when God was doing great things? Or just when life seemed better? God is telling you it's time to move! If He did it then, He can and will again - we just need to choose to live a life that actually looks like what we talk about : living in the revelation of who we are & whose we are, having God's power shown in us and through us. This is the inheritance we should be claiming and leaving for our children and their children! If you're finding yourself 'stuck', this talk will show you how to move on and encourage you in living a life rooted and grounded in love
Week 2 - Time for Hope
11th December 2011 Speaker: Andrew Toogood
Real relationship with God brings real hope. Not a cross-your-fingers-and-wish-for-the-best kind of hope, but the kind that brings the change God has promised us all - a confident expectation of good in our lives. This is not just our inheritance, it's for the next generation and beyond - if we walk in this real hope, the benefits get multiplied for our children and their children. But for many people, real hope seems too far off, too unbelievable to grasp. It's not just a modern thing; contrast how Zechariah and Mary responded to the message of hope Gabriel brought each of them, and see how letting God's word of hope take root inside you and grow brings change - real, lasting change based in love. An encouraging talk for this Christmas season
Week 3 - Time to Trust
18th December 2011 Speaker: Jill Boyd
The Christmas story is a story of hope. But for some at this time of year it's difficult to see past everything Christmas has become - good and bad - and say "let it be unto me according to Your word". If you're seeing sickness, broken relationships, lack, etc, it can be hard to take God at His word and see health, restored relationships, prosperity or whatever. But real hope enables us to do that. Be encouraged that God is working His goodness in your life even when you can't always see it or feel it. Choose to trust in His unending love for you, and approach 2012 with the confident expectation that He is faithful to His promises - not just for everyone else who seems to be doing well, but for you too.
Week 4 - Walking into your inheritance Part 1
8th January 2012 Speaker: Andrew Toogood
It's the start of a new year. A time when many are thinking about the opportunities which lie ahead, but how many are seeing those opportunities in the context of an inheritance just waiting to be taken & enjoyed? God's gift to you today is something brand new, something you've not experienced before. So leave jaded attitudes of your past experience behind and step into this new season of resting in the promises He's laid out for you. It's then that the Kingdom of God can take its rightful place in your life and your normal will start to look different to the world's normal. Let God go first, wholeheartedly follow Him into this new year in full assurance that He's got your back, and see the supernatural power of God become your natural way of life - an amazing testimony to God's love and grace.
Week 5 - The power of Thanks
15th January 2012 Speaker: Andrew Toogood
It seems too simple to be true, but to experience the fullness of God in life, we need to remember to give thanks. You can have all the theological knowledge and understanding of God and his amazing love and grace towards all His creation - but if you fail to be thankful, you're missing out. Being thankful keeps us focussed on Christ and not on ourselves. Being thankful allows us to remember all the good God has done and the enormity of our seemingly difficult circumstances reduces. Being thankful shows us that what He has done He can and will do again. Being thankful reminds us it is God's power & strength that supplies all we need and worrying does not. This talk will encourage you to live a life of thanksgiving - which literally means, to be thinking on grace
Week 6 - The terms of your new covenant
22nd January 2012 Speaker: Andrew Toogood
As we learn to live in the fullness of God, remember that it doesn't mean you're going to see flash-bam miracles going on around you all the time. MIracles are fantastic and we want to see more and more, but better that that is living in blessing! Living a supernatural life means living in the blessing that God has promised in His word. Seeing that happen hangs on a very important point : living in the new covenant God made with us through Christ, not a new version of the old covenant where it was all about God rewarding or punishing us for things we did. Everything that God requires has already been done! So be encouraged, cease striving, rest in His presence, know that in your personal weakness He gets His chance to really shine, and let your life be an encounter with God through His new covenant
Week 7 - Overcoming Life's Battles : Jericho, Part 1
29th January 2012 Speaker: Andrew Toogood
The biggest battle many of us face when God shows you what He has for you and how He wants your life to be, is unbelief. Just like the Israelites on their journey to take the promised land, obstacles stand in our way.
The city of Jericho symbolised idolatry and unbelief, and shows us that if we don't overcome these we can't enter into the fullness of what God has promised us. Jericho wasn't large, but if they had chosen to ignore it, they would always have been looking over their shoulders, wondering when the armies of Jericho would catch up with them.
So as impossible as it appeared to the human mind, being led by the supernatural power of God meant victory was theirs, without even lifting a spear, because God had already laid out the path for them to take should they choose to walk in it.
Week 8 - Overcoming Life's Battles : Jericho, Part 2
5th February 2012 Speaker: Jill Boyd
When we come up against obstacles and struggles in life, whether we are an overcomer depends on what we believe about God and His promises for you when you're in the midst of the battle. If you believe in your heart that what He says is true, you're well positioned to make it through.
But remember that God's ways are not our ways, so don't try and do His job for Him. Don't think you know how He'll make it happen or that His plan will make sense compared to worldly wisdom. The way God told Joshua He would take Jericho is undoubtedly one of the craziest battle plans you'll ever hear!
So rest knowing that He's promised He has made a way - it's your job to believe it and live out that truth, even before you can see it. This talk will encourage you and challenge you to ensure God is central in all areas of your life.
